Alexander-Arnold “just a normal lad from Liverpool whose dream has just come true”

Trent Alexander-Arnold struggled to explain how he felt in the wake of Liverpool’s Champions League final victory on Saturday night.

Goals from Mohamed Salah and Divock Origi were enough to see the Reds over the line and clinch a sixth European Championship trophy for the Anfield team.

And Alexander-Arnold admitted winning the greatest prize in club football was nothing short of a “dream come true”.

“It’s hard to put into words what has just happened, and the celebrations that will happen tonight,” he said, as quoted by LiverpoolFC.com.

“The season we have had, I think we have deserved it more than any other team. The run that we have had, we have beaten everyone in our path and we have done something special again tonight.

“Origi getting the late goal has finished Tottenham off. We were being dominated through parts of the game but we are a world-class side and we showed we can win any game.

“When we look back on tonight we are not going to think it was a sluggish game, we are going to think we have just won the European Cup. And we have just done it for all these fans.

“I’m just a normal lad from Liverpool whose dream has just come true.”
