Liverpool and Chelsea eyeing Barcelona left-back

Liverpool have been linked with a summer swoop for young Barcelona left-back Alejandro Balde, according to Sport, cited by Sport Witness.
Chelsea are also in for the 16-year-old, who is very keen on a switch from Spain to England, should the opportunity arise.
The Stamford Bridge side are unlikely to be able to complete a move for Balde this summer due to their two-year transfer ban, paving the way for the player to join Jurgen Klopp’s side.

Barcelona are, however, eager to keep the defender and are working hard on persuading him to pen a new deal.
Liverpool will be light at left-back next season following the imminent departure of Alberto Moreno, with Andy Robertson the only senior player for that position.
Though Balde would go straight into the Academy should he join the Reds, he could be fast-tracked to the senior squad in the coming seasons to act as an understudy for Robertson.
