Odds slashed on Matthijs de Ligt to Liverpool transfer
Odds have reportedly been slashed today from 20/1 to 4/1 on Ajax captain Matthijs de Ligt moving to Anfield this summer.
The 19-year-old had looked certain to join Barcelona, with the La Liga giants already acquiring De Ligt’s teammate Frenkie de Jong.
And while they remain the favourites to sign the Dutch centre-back at 6/4, they’ve drifted considerably from 1/8, with Man United also falling to 5/2.

Liverpool’s success in the Champions League final has undoubtedly impacted on their chances of signing De Ligt after Jurgen Klopp’s side won the trophy for the sixth time in their history.
Callum Wilson, a spokesperson from, Oddschecker, said: “The sleeping giant has now unquestionably awoken and Liverpool are now one of the most revered clubs in Europe.
“If they could capture the world’s hottest defender to partner the imperious Virgil van Dijk, they could form the base for the Reds to dominate for the next decade.”
De Ligt has enjoyed a fine season for Ajax, helping his side reach the semi-finals of the Champions League, but his impressive performances were always likely to draw attention from bigger clubs around Europe.
Were Liverpool to sign the defender, they would boast arguably the best centre-back pairing in the world.
