Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino, Xherdan Shaqiri, Naby Keïta, and Alisson are all expected back in training.

Liverpool are headed home from their USA tour, wrapping up another phase of their 2019 pre-season, and Jürgen Klopp is getting ready to welcome another wave of players back into the fold as the team prepare for a stint in Evian, France next week.

“When we get back, hopefully six players can join us,” he noted. “Naby Keïta should be ready to train, Xherdan Shaqiri should be ready to train and hopefully play, Mo, Bobby and Ali and a week later Sadio as well. They are important players for us.”

Liverpool’s next game, on Sunday against Napoli in Edinburgh, won’t see any of those players involved, but on Monday training begins in France and Keïta, Shaqiri, Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino, and Alisson Becker will be taking part.

They will all be expected to play a part in the team’s final pre-season game against Lyon on the 31st and then against Manchester City in the Community Shield, after which Sadio Mané will be the final player to make his return to training.

“We have an important week ahead of us at Evian for a proper training camp,” Klopp added. “We have a very tricky game against Napoli and then the game against Lyon we organised pretty much for the boys who are coming back.

“Hopefully they can get some minutes in that game. It will be really important.”
