Klopp Congratulates Alisson and Firmino on Copa America Success

The duo were part of the Brazilian side who brought home the trophy.
It’s two times lucky for Roberto Firmino and Alisson Becker, who followed up their Champions League victory with national team success. They were two huge reasons why Brazil won the Copa America on home soil this summer.
Both players are obviously thrilled and obviously exhausted and will miss Liverpool’s pre-season work in the United States as a result.
But that didn’t stop manager JĂ¼rgen Klopp from feeling thrilled on their behalves.
“I wrote them a message immediately after the game,” the manager confirmed.
“I was sent a couple of videos, voice messages and stuff like that. They had a good time. The last one I got this morning at 7.30, so they need a holiday but they deserve it of course. It’s nice, it’s really nice, to see them celebrating again when you see the pictures yesterday after the game how the whole of Brazil [celebrated]. It reminded me immediately of our little celebration four or five weeks ago!
“It’s nice, it helps them of course. I think the last time they [Brazil] won it was 2007, they were kids. Ali, now 26, was 14 years old then, so it’s just nice. You watch the game then and they could not have imagined that they would be the next generation to win it. I’m really happy for them.”
The extra miles on their legs will be a bit worrisome, but it’s certainly nice to see our players continue their winning ways over the summer as well. Winning breeds more winning, and hopefully this keeps them hungry for more in a month when next season begins.
