Klopp keen to secure striker on new long-term deal

Liverpool will look to lock down Divock Origi to a new deal as soon as possible after the striker returned to training, according to the Telegraph.
The Belgian scored a brace against Barcelona in the Champions League semis and a well-taken second goal for Liverpool in the final in Madrid to help Jurgen Klopp’s side life the European Cup last month.
He began pre-season training yesterday after enjoying some time off on holiday, joining those who started back at Melwood on Saturday.

The 24-year-old is now in his final year at the club and could leave for free next summer unless a new deal is agreed-upon.
However, Klopp is eager to keep him at Anfield beyond summer 2020 and has reportedly prioritised resolving the forward’s contract situation.
Negotiations began immediately after last month’s final but Liverpool have made in clear that they will keep Origi at the club this season regardless of whether or not he signs an extension to his current deal.
