Official: Liverpool sign Fulham Starlet Harvey Elliott

The young talent signs for the Reds amidst interest from Real Madrid and others
In many corners of the internet, Liverpool fans have been clamoring for additional signings to strengthen the squad. The current Champions of Europe and runners up in the Premiere League have responded by signing 16 year old Harvey Elliott, a young player with lots of promise rather than a more established name such as Bruno Fernandes or Nicolas Pepe.
“I can’t wait to get started and it will be a truly special feeling to pull the famous red jersey on,” says Elliott. “I’ll work as hard as I possibly can for the club and I feel Anfield is the perfect place for me to develop and progress as a player.”
Elliott became the youngest player to see the field in Premiere League history last season for Fulham. Elliott’s youth contract expired at the end of June, and the U17 England International opted to seek opportunities with higher profile clubs. Liverpool are believed to have beaten out the likes of Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain for the teenager’s signature. While there is not signing fee, Liverpool are expected to pay a significant compensation fee to Fulham in a similar situation to when Danny Ings signed from Burnley.
Elliott becomes another member of a cadre of impressive youth players around the fringes of the first team. Jürgen Klopp, known for his ability to integrate youth talent into the senior side rather than spend Monopoly money every off-season, has a creative left-footed wide player that is expected to be part of the first team set up.
“He’s a great dribbler, he’s very sharp and he’s got good feet,” says former Liverpool and Fulham player Danny Murphy.
The precocious 16 year old is expected to train with the first team in Evian, and has already been added to the team for the friendly with S.S.C. Napoli today in Edinburgh. Hopefully some time with Roberto Firmino will up Elliott’s fashion game as well has his counterpressing ability.
