The £109.84m transfer rumour that will resurface in 12 months

Barcelona might have offloaded Philippe Coutinho on loan but the 27-year-old will likely be linked with Liverpool again next summer.
The Brazilian joined Bayern Munich on a season-long loan for an €8.5m (£7.78m) fee and have the option to make it a permanent deal in 12 months’ time for €120m (£109.84m), according to BBC Sport.
Lucas Hernandez (23) is the Bavarians’ record signing after they paid Atletico Madrid €80m (£73.3m) and so given Coutinho’s age and profile, it seems unlikely the German giants will spend over £100m to sign him permanently.
The former Liverpool midfielder is unwanted at Barcelona and has already been offloaded by the Catalonians and a return to Camp Nou next season seems highly improbable.
Having said that, a return to Anfield seems even more unlikely. By the time next summer rolls around, the little magician will be 28 and nowhere near worth spending over £100m on.
Jurgen Klopp has sent a strong message to his players that if they aren’t fully invested in his plans, they can leave with no way back in. Liverpool’s squad morale is arguably their greatest weapon as it allows them to mount comebacks like the 4-0 win over Barcelona in the Champions League.
Liverpool need a player like Coutinho but not at the risk of upsetting the unity in the dressing room.
