James Pearce provides Liverpool kit deal update

Liverpool, New Balance.

Liverpool fans are desperate to learn who will be the club’s new kit sponsor and James Pearce provided an update on the situation.

In a response to a question from a Liverpool fan on The Athletic’s website, Pearce wrote: “As for the kit deal, I understand that positive discussions with Nike have taken place and there’s a decent offer from them on the table but nothing is signed, nothing is definite yet.

“It will basically either be Nike or staying with New Balance. The situation should become clearer in the coming month.”

Some fans are worried that Liverpool joining Nike would mean the Reds would receive the same generic kits that we see Barcelona and Chelsea get every year while New Balance are yet to show signs that they are willing to spend the big bucks to retain the Anfield outfit.

As Pearce says, everything should become a lot clearer in the coming month as the club will be keen to get everything ironed out well in advance of the 2020/21 season.

Regardless of who will be the kit sponsor from next season, it’s encouraging to know that the Reds will receive one of the most lucrative kit deals in the world of football.

After winning the Champions League last season and returning to the peak of English football, Liverpool deserve to be treated like European royalty.
