Ben Woodburn facing three-month injury layoff

The Welsh international has suffered yet another setback in his development and will be on the sidelines for three months.

Woodburn has suffered a broken bone in his left foot while in action for Oxford United and is facing a three month absence.

A scan has confirmed that he fractured a metatarsal and will miss the next 12 weeks and after not being called up to Ryan Gigg’s latest squad for Wales’ international break, it will feel like a real blow to his young career.

The Liverpool Academy graduate is extremely talented and after becoming the club’s youngest goalscorer in 2016, he hasn’t been able to take a major stride forward with the first team.

Hopefully, he can return from the sidelines in the New Year and once again show Liverpool fans that he can become one of the club’s standout stars in the years to come.
