Liverpool Legends have confirmed a match against Barcelona at Anfield in March of 2020.

Liverpool have made something of a habit in recent years out of arranging LFC Legends matches for the international breaks, giving fans something to watch that doesn’t involve worrying about key first team stars picking up potential injuries.

Most recently, they headed north to Scotland to take on Rangers in a charity match earlier this month in a match that saw Steven Gerrard lining up for both sides. Now, they have a big match coming up at Anfield, with Barcelona’s Legends set to visit.

The match is scheduled for March 28th, 2020, which will be during the final international break of the 2019-20 season, and a number of recent big name players for both clubs have already been confirmed—including former Red Fernando Torres.

“I’ll be so happy to come back and play in a Liverpool shirt again,” Torres told the club’s official website following the announcement of the match, with the striker particularly eager to get a chance to hear the Torres Bounce sung again by the Kop.

Torres made his last return for Gerrard’s testimonial game, but this will be the first time that the recently retired Spaniard joins the Legends squad. A pair of left backs, Jose Enrique and Fabio Aurelio, will also be returning to Anfield for the first time.

Luis Garcia, Patrik Berger, Jerzy Dudek, Jason McAteer, and Vladimir Smicer have also confirmed their place in the match, while for the Barcelona’s Legends team, Edgar Davids, Patrick Kluivert, Juliano Belletti, and Javier Saviola are confirmed.
