Joel Matip will not face Red Bull Salzburg

Jurgen Klopp says Joel Matip will not face Red Bull Salzburg this evening as the Reds get ready for their second Champions League game.
The Reds succumbed to a 2-0 defeat against Napoli in their last European outing but will feel confident in their ability to bounce back and beat Red Bull Salzburg.
The Austrian side is top of Group E after they beat Genk 6-2 two weeks ago but Liverpool are still the favourites to progress to the knockout stages after their successful journey to the final last season.
Speaking to the press, Klopp said: “With Joel, it’s not a big one, but it’s big enough that he’s not available for tomorrow night. We don’t want to [take] any risks and we don’t have to take any risks, and that’s why he will not be involved.”
The Cameroonian is a key member of the starting XI but Klopp can call on either Joe Gomez or Dejan Lovren to step up and deliver as the Reds gear up for a crucial run of fixtures which will see them face Leicester, Manchester United, Tottenham, Arsenal and Manchester City over the space of 40 days.
With seven wins from seven in the Premier League, Liverpool top the table and lead Manchester City by five points which could prove to be a vital early-season lead when fixtures start piling up in December and January.
