Klopp Looking Forward to “Reunion” With European Nights at Anfield

Liverpool will play their first Champions League game of the season at Anfield on Wednesday.
No one understands the wonder of a European night at Anfield more than Jurgen Klopp. His Reds have brought the magic back to the club in recent years, creating some incredible memories in that storied stadium, including incredible comeback victories against Borussia Dortmund and Barcelona. On Wednesday, the lights will go on and Liverpool will step out onto the pitch to play their first Champions League game of the season at Anfield against RB Salzburg.
Klopp appears to be just as eager as the rest of us to get that adrenaline rush again.
“Let’s make it as positive as we can because it is the first game since Barcelona that we play at Anfield,” Klopp said.
”It is like a reunion with the European crowd. OK, we have played Premier League games but these European nights are based on the performances of all of us. I really hope we can create that atmosphere again and see what it is good for.”
After losing their first match in Naples, this Salzburg match takes on an added importance. Liverpool have been notorious for being untouchable on their home ground in Europe, and they’ll need to continue that form on Wednesday.
