Liverpool reportedly receive "huge boost" in pursuit of Erling Haaland

The Express reports that Liverpool have been handed a “huge boost” and could “pounce” to sign Erling Haaland in the January window.

The newspaper, whose articles should always be taken with a pinch of salt, say that recent quotes from former Norway international Erik Thorstvedt indicate that a January move for Haaland is on the cards.

Calciomercato have claimed that Liverpool, alongside Tottenham, Manchester United and Juventus, are interested in the 19-year-old in the face of his incredible Champions League form.

Haaland is the top goalscorer in Europe’s elite competition this season, having outscored the likes of Robert Lewandowski and Kylian Mbappe with his six goals for RB Salzburg.

“There may be someone who will take a chance in January to move in first,” the former goalkeeper said, as quoted by the Mirror. “And then let him play at Salzburg for the rest of the season.

“Salzburg are a selling club and they will sell when they will get the most money.

“If it is next summer that they will get the most money for him, they will sell then.”
