Red Bull Salzburg star fit to face Liverpool

Prolific Red Bull Salzburg star Erling Haaland is fit to face Liverpool at Anfield this evening as Jesse Marsch confirmed his return to fitness.

The 19-year-old striker netted a hattrick against Genk in the opening game of the Champions League season and will be a player that Virgil van Dijk will be tasked with keeping quiet.

“Erling is healthy and ready for tomorrow,” said coach Jesse Marsch at his pre-match press conference.

“He is a big part of our team, he has scored a lot of goals for us this year and is a big threat.

The only decision for us is whether he is ready to start or to bring him off the bench.”

Haaland has scored 27 goals in 16 games this season but Liverpool have the tools to keep the exciting teenager quiet as they did with some of the best forwards in Europe last season.

After slumping to a 2-0 defeat in Naples two weeks ago, Jurgen Klopp’s players will be desperate to use this evening’s game at Anfield to get their European campaign off to a start.
