Erling Haaland focussed on defeating Liverpool despite transfer rumours
Salzburg forward Erling Haaland is focussed on defeating Liverpool tonight to progress to the knockout rounds of the Champions League, despite rumours suggesting the Anfield club could be interested in securing the services of the youngster in the future.
Liverpool have to avoid defeat to Haaland’s Salzburg in Austria tonight if they wish to progress to the knockout rounds of Europe’s elite competition.
If the Reds fall short and Napoli defeat Genk at home, they would be knocked out of the competition.
Haaland is having some sort of season for Salzburg. The 19-year-old has already bagged 27 goals this season.
When a forward produces that sort of form, he inevitably is going to be linked to Europe’s big teams, which obviously includes Liverpool.

However, despite the rumours, Haaland is completely focussed on getting past Liverpool tonight.
“I just focus on my job, playing football. To enjoy what I do every day and go into it with a clear mindset,” Haaland said.
“My job is to focus on Salzburg to be here as a player.”
The occasion will be tricky for Liverpool. Salzburg showed they have the quality going forward, as they lost 4-3 at Anfield earlier in the campaign. Jurgen Klopp’s side will have to be switched on.
