Pundit lauds Liverpool midfielder
Pundit Garth Crooks was very impressed with the performance of Liverpool midfielder Jordan Henderson against Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium on Saturday.
The Reds were 3-0 victors against Bournemouth, and the Liverpool captain had a solid game, which included an assist.
Henderson played a superb long-ball pass to forward Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, who had the composure to convert.
Crooks believes the Liverpool captain has been in terrific form of late. He also added that Henderson is not the most technically-gifted player in the world, but he does have the ability to hurt the opposition with his skill set.
Speaking to BBC Sport, Crooks said: “This player has been outstanding for Liverpool during the past few weeks and continued his excellent form against a Bournemouth side that were never in Liverpool’s class.
“Jordan Henderson’s pass for Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain to score was sensational. It might have helped the Cherries if they had a player within 10 feet of the Liverpool captain.

“Henderson may not be the most adroit practitioner with the ball at his feet but even he will kill you if you give him that much room. The Reds go marching on.”
Crooks certainly raises a fair point in regards to Henderson’s ability. His passing range, which was on display for Liverpool’s opening goal against Bournemouth, is something that often goes unnoticed.
The victory against Bournemouth sees the Reds sit eight points clear at the top of the Premier League table. Liverpool’s next Premier League clash will come against Watford at Anfield next weekend.
However, the Reds have a Champions League fixture against Salzburg away to deal with first on Tuesday night. Jurgen Klopp’s side need to avoid defeat to progress to the knockout rounds.
