Gary Lineker highlights what Liverpool’s victory over Wolves means in terms of the title
England legend Gary Lineker believes that the goal scored by Liverpool forward Roberto Firmino against Wolverhampton Wanderers last night was the moment the Reds won the Premier League title.
Liverpool defeated Wolves 2-1 at the Molinuex Stadium last night thanks to goals from Jordan Henderson and Firmino.
The game was 1-1 going into the dying moments as Raul Jimenez scored a second-half equaliser for Wovles, but Firmino scored a superb goal late in the game, which was enough for the Reds to claim the three points.
Lineker posted on social media after Firmino scored claiming that if Liverpool hold on for the final few minutes, this would be the day they claim the title.

Lineker may well be correct in regards to his statement. Many Liverpool supporters would have felt the exact same way.
Wolves are such a tough opponent to face, as they have beaten Manchester City twice within the Premier League this season.
They gave Liverpool a very good game last night, but the Reds always seem to find a way. Liverpool now possess a 16-point lead at the top of the Premier League table with a game in hand.
