Jack Grealish urged by pundit to ignore Man United and wait for potential Liverpool transfer

Former Red Stan Collymore believes that Aston Villa midfielder Jack Grealish should ignore any potential interest from Manchester United and wait for Liverpool to come calling.

Grealish, 24, has had a superb season for Aston Villa thus far. He has scored seven goals and has made five assists in 22 games in the Premier League, which is currently keeping Aston Villa away from the relegation zone.

When a player such as Grealish comes along, they are inevitably going to be linked with the big clubs.

Grealish has been linked with a move to Manchester United by various reports, however, Collymore believes that the 24-year-old should wait for the right move, naming Liverpool as a club that Grealish should be aspiring to play for.

“I know I am biased towards Jack Grealish but the stats don’t lie,” Collymore said, as quoted by the Daily Mirror.

“For him to become the first English midfielder to register 15 goals/assists since Frank Lampard in 2009/10, in an average to poor team, is a superb effort.

“His talent deserves a better platform, and if you were to stick Grealish in that Liverpool midfield and let him service their magic front three, the kid could be one of Europe’s most effective midfielders.

“He could even have an England team built around him.

“Forget Manchester United, Grealish will be waiting five years to reach the level he could get to at Anfield.”

Collymore does make a fair point, but there has been no suggestion from anyone that Liverpool are interested in Grealish.

However, he would be a player that would flourish under Reds manager Jurgen Klopp. He has the ability to score and create from midfield, which highlights the talent that he is.
