Jurgen Klopp set to play the kids in Shrewsbury Town FA Cup replay

Reds boss Jurgen Klopp is set to play the kids in Liverpool’s FA Cup replay against Shrewsbury Town at Anfield next week.
The Reds left the New Meadow yesterday with a 2-2 draw, which was not the result Klopp was looking for.
Liverpool managed to gain a 2-0 lead throughout the match. Curtis Jones scored the Reds’ first goal early in the first-half, which was then followed by a Donald Love own goal early in the second-half.
However, a brace from Shrewsbury’s Jason Cummings in the second-half saw the match finish at 2-2, meaning Klopp’s side are forced into a replay.
However, Klopp has no intentions of playing any of the senior players, as he is looking to honour the inaugural Premier League winter break.
Klopp also stated that Neil Critchley, who is Liverpool’s under-23 manager, will take charge of the young side that face Shrewbury Town in the replay next week.
“Our situation is the following: we’ve known for a couple of weeks, in fact we’ve known longer, that it would be like this,” said Klopp, as quoted by RTE.

“In April 2019 we got a letter from the Premier League, I think, where they asked us to respect the winter break and not to organise international friendlies or competitive games. We respect that.
“So I said to the boys already two weeks ago that we will have a winter break which means we will not be there. It will be the kids who play that game.
“You cannot deal with us like nobody cares about it. I know that it’s not very popular but that’s the way I see it.
“The Premier League asked us to respect the winter break. That’s what we do. If the FA doesn’t respect that, then we cannot change it. We will not be there.
“Does that mean I won’t be there? Yes. Neil Critchley will be in charge.”
Many Liverpool supporters won’t have an issue with Klopp’s decision. The FA Cup is not worth risking key players in.
Klopp gave minutes to the likes of Joel Matip, Dejan Lovren, Divock Origi, Takumi Minamino and Fabinho last night, but one can understand why he won’t be doing that again.
Liverpool need fit squad players heading into the final set of fixtures within the Premier League, and then one also must consider the Reds are still in the Champions League.
