Charlie Adam provides suggestion on who Kylian Mbappe could replace in Liverpool’s XI

Former Red Charlie Adam has stated that Paris Saint-Germain striker Kylian Mbappe could arguably replace forward Mohamed Salah in Liverpool’s starting XI.

Salah, who signed for the Reds from Roma for a fee of £39 million back in the summer of 2017, has arguably been Jurgen Klopp’s best signing during his time as manager of Liverpool.

The Egyptian international has been one of the key reasons why the club have claimed the UEFA Champions League, UEFA Super Cup and the FIFA Club World Cup within the past seven months.

Salah will more than likely be able to add the Premier League title to that aforementioned list, as he has helped propel Liverpool to the top of the table.

Despite his impact at the club, Adam believes that if Liverpool were to sign Mbappe in the summer, Salah would more than likely be the man that has to make way in Klopp’s starting XI.

“I think it would be very difficult in terms of where he [Mbappe] plays,” said Adam, as quoted by The Boot Room.

“I think [Roberto] Firmino is a massive link to how Liverpool play and what they try to do. Since Salah and [Sadio] Mane have been in the door, they’ve been sensational.

“I’d go for Salah. Yeah [Salah out, Mbappe in]. You’d have to. If I’m going to spend £150million, £200million on Mbappe, he’s going to be playing every week.”

Adam has made a huge call here. If one is being honest, there is not one footballer on the earth you could replace any of Liverpool’s front three with.

Sure, there are arguably more talented players available, but in terms of working as a three, no one does it better than Roberto Firmino, Sadio Mane and Salah.

Why would you take away a key link in Salah?
