Michael Owen states his prediction for Liverpool’s clash against Shrewsbury

Former Red Michael Owen believes that the FA Cup replay clash between Liverpool and Shrewsbury Town at Anfield tonight will be entertaining.

With the Reds drawing 2-2 at the New Meadow a bit over a week ago, Liverpool were forced into a replay against Shrewsbury Town.

Klopp will not play any of his senior players in the replay, as he is looking to honour the inaugural Premier League winter break.

Neil Critchley, who is Liverpool’s under-23 manager, will take charge of the young side that face Shrewsbury Town in the replay tonight, as Klopp has also opted for a break.

Despite the fact Liverpool will be fielding quite an unknown XI, Owen believes that the game could be somewhat entertaining. He also stated that Liverpool will claim a victory.

“Jurgen Klopp and his senior players are on their winter break and under 23’s coach Neil Critchley will take charge of a young Liverpool side against Shrewsbury who came from two goals down to earn a replay last month,” Owen told BetVictor, as quoted by The Sport Review.

“There is something of an aura around Anfield at this moment in time and I believe the Reds will win an entertaining tie against a Shrews side who have lost both games since the original 2-2 draw and have failed to find the back of the net in those defeats.”

It will be an interesting game nonetheless. There is no real pressure on Liverpool, as none of the senior players will be featuring throughout.

It is a great experience to play at Anfield for the youngsters, which means they will definitely be up for the match. If Liverpool win as Owen has predicted, it would be a great night for the club.
