Pep Guardiola’s one-word response to describe Liverpool

Pep Guardiola.

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has described Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool as “unstoppable” in the Premier League title race.

The Reds currently possess a 22-point lead at the top of the Premier League table, which means Liverpool can secure the title with six more wins.

Liverpool have only dropped points in one Premier League fixture this season, which was the 1-1 draw against Manchester United at Old Trafford back in October 2019.

Guardiola’s side have claimed the title in the past two seasons, but despite the experience his side have, he has accepted the title is heading to Liverpool this season.

“Yes, we are far away,” Guardiola told the media after Manchester City’s 2-0 Premier League loss to Tottenham Hotspur yesterday.

“[Liverpool] are unstoppable with a lot of points, we drop points in games that are quite similar today, even when we play at Anfield.

“Now we target other competitions and to qualify for the Champions League next season.

“Two seasons ago we had 100 points, 19 [clear of Manchester] United and Mourinho, and I don’t know how many from Liverpool. In that period Liverpool were strong, they’re stronger right now

“Today is not the day to reveal what you have to do. The reality against United [in the League Cup semi-final] is we conceded one shot on target, we created incredible amounts of chances and lost the game and today is quite similar.

“Against that it’s difficult to find a solution. What do we have to do? I don’t know.”

Guardiola is definitely a realist. The lead is massive and it is a lead this Liverpool team will not drop.

If nothing changes, Liverpool will have the opportunity to win the Premier League title against Crystal Palace at Anfield on March 21.

The following Premier League fixture after the clash against Crystal Palace for Liverpool is against Manchester City at the Etihad.

With that being the case, the Citizens could be the team that provides the guard of honour to the Reds.
