Takumi Minamino reviews his first month at Anfield

Reds forward Takumi Minamino says he is still getting used to his new club, but he is enjoying the challenge.

Liverpool triggered Minamino’s £7.25 million release clause back in December 2019, which meant he officially joined the club from Salzburg on January 1.

The Japan international made his debut for the Reds against Everton in the FA Cup back at the beginning of January, and he has showed signs that he will be a very handy addition to Jurgen Klopp’s squad.

Minamino has stated that he is still adapting to his new life, but he is determined to make it work.

Minamino told Liverpoolfc.com: “Liverpool is a top-class team. Even in training I can see the very high quality and in the games we don’t feel like losing. But the resilience of the team, I am feeling that much stronger than before I joined.

“I’m getting used to the city and I’m getting used to the team as well. I have been enjoying this moment and I would love to keep doing so in the future.”

So far, Minamino has done reasonably well. England is a difficult place to play football, and Minamino would now understand that.

However, what has been impressive is his ability to get stuck in. He does not look intimidated at all. He has played in two very difficult fixtures –  the Merseyside derby and the Premier League clash against Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Those are tough games to feature in, but he would have taken a lot out of both those matches.
