And then there was one. Liverpool are set to compete in their final pre-season match on Saturday against League One side Blackpool. While the club clearly decided that one last friendly would benefit them, Klopp will have a limited squad to choose from, due to the international break.

Usually the final warm-up match of the pre-season would start with something close to the manager’s preferred starting XI. In the case of this match, Klopp will be without a whole host of his first team, including all four first choice defenders. Kostas Tsimikas, brought in to provide relief for Andy Robertson, may or may not have contracted coronavirus, and so he will not be playing either.

The good news is that Jordan Henderson could get some minutes, and the Reds will likely set up in a very attack-minded manner. The front line of Sadio Mane, Mohamed Salah, and Roberto Firmino will all be available, along with Fabinho, Divock Origi, and Naby Keita.

This could end up being an entertaining goal fest or a chaotic, nightmare.
