Not sure why people were getting excited, but here’s Klopp dousing you with some cold water.

With the opening of Liverpool FC’s new £50million AXA Training Centre in Kirkby were earlier this month, both club and player have released videos clips of Virgil van Dijk busy at work rehabbing. Of course, some fans started to become a little too excited about the prospect of a quicker than expected return for the big Dutchman.

Speaking to the press ahead of the match against Tottenham, Jürgen Klopp had this to say about Virgil’s rehab:

He’s as good as you can be in this situation. Virgil is a very positive person and since he overcame the shock of the actual injury, he is in a really good mood and working hard to get back. But this is a very long, long-term injury so it was still, I have to say, a crazy challenge which I still don’t understand. I don’t think about it but you ask me and it comes up. It is a very, very serious injury and it will take time but he makes the steps he can make in the moment.”

Virgil van Dijk continues to have no set timetable for his return. Miss you, buddy.
