Rumour Mongering: Liverpool Chasing Polish International Kacper Kozlowski
The 17-year-old already has five senior caps for his country and has been compared to Kevin De Bruyne.
Liverpool in recent seasons have shown an increasing fondness for seeking out promising youth talent that the club can bring in for a relative bargain fee before then allowing the player to finish their development within their academy system.
Now, they’re said to be working towards the capture of Kacper Kozlowski, a 17-year-old Polish midfielder who has already earned five senior caps for his country—including one in an appearance against Spain at this past summer’s Euros.
Or at least that’s the story this week according to The Mirror, who say Kozlowski is high on the club’s list of targets and a player they’re actively working to bring to England. They aren’t alone, though, with Milan and Leipzig also said to be interested.
The youngster plays for Pogon Szczecin and made 20 first team appearances for them last season while they finished third in the Polish league. So far this season he has already made 12 appearances, scoring three goals and two assists.
Even in a weaker league, it’s an impressive set of numbers for a 17-year-old and speaks to why Kozlowski has drawn comparisons to Kevin De Bruyne. It will be interesting to see if Liverpool’s interest is in fact serious—and if they can close the deal.
