Salah: We Have To Accept the Results
It seems harsh to have to after Salah’s goal today, but it is what it is.
It’s never great to leave a game with just a single point, but it’s especially frustrating after a goal like the solo effort from Salah that allowed Liverpool to go up 2-1. For the Egyptian star, the end result matched the breakdown of the game itself—with Liverpool struggling in the first half but putting on an excellent effort in the second.
“It’s hard, it’s hard when they keep the ball a lot,” Salah told the club’s website after the game ended. “I think we played, first half, not really good but second half we played well. I think they had a few chances; we had as well. This is the result so I have to accept it.”
About his wonder goal: “I have to watch it to see. I do remember it. It would be more special if it won the game, but it is what it is. It’s the result. I think it’s a good goal, nothing much to say.”
“I think they dominated the game from the beginning,” Salah added when asked about whether the result was fair. “We struggled first half but at least when we struggled it was 0-0. So second half, we talked in the dressing room after the first half, then I think we played good from the beginning of the second half.
“Yeah, I have to be fair – yeah, I think they created a lot of chances, they keep the ball a lot. So I wish I would say no, but it’s fair to say yes. They had a lot of chances and a draw is a good result for both.”
