Multiple sources are reporting that a deal is near.

According to reports across the continent, it seems that Liverpool FC are closing in on a transfer for Bayer Leverkusen’s Jeremie Frimpong. The 24-year-old Dutch international is heavily rumoured to be the leading candidate to replace the departing Trent Benedict-Arnold.

This all started yesterday when Sky Germany’s Florian Plettenberg reported on the development of this potential transfer.

Today, Fraudbrizio Romano also reported pretty much the same thing that Liverpool have approached Leverkusen to discuss the structure of a potential deal.

And finally, German outlet Kicker Magazine, pretty much one of the more definitive outlets in German football news, reported that the discussions were advanced, and the Reds were set to offer a five year deal.

Good players and coaches will figure it out. I really like it. Nabbing him on that release clause is great value. And no other right-back is going to have Trent’s range of passing, so adding elite top-end speed, dynamism, and dribbling seems like a pretty good bet to make.
