Rumour Mongering: Paris Saint-Germain Open to Bradley Barcola Sale
With Mohamed Salah having left the club, whispers about a potential Cody Gakpo sale, and striker Hugo Ekitike likely out until the new year due to injury, Liverpool could conceivably enter the 2026-27 season with just young winger Rio Ngumoha and striker Alexander Isak as recognized forward options.
To say the club desperately need a few high quality signings is an understatement, and on that front the two big names most regularly linked in recent months have been RB Leipzig’s Yan Diomande and Paris Saint-Germain’s Bradley Barcola. In recent weeks, though, there has been little meaningful news on either.
Today, though, French paper of record L’Equipe have broached the Barcola subject saying PSG are at least open to the idea of selling the 23-year-old as he’s fallen behind Khvicha Kvaratskhelia on the depth chart and is about to enter the penultimate year of his contract with talks for a new deal having stalled.
PSG manager Luis Enrique is said to prefer to keep Barcola, but L’Equipe note “talks have stalled [and] with these protracted negotiations PSG is not entirely opposed to a sale.” Along with the Reds, Arsenal have been linked with Barcola and the English champions would obviously also be an attractive destination.
Word of PSG’s openness to a sale comes on the heels of a report from TalkSports’ Alex Crook that Barcola has asked to leave the Ligue 1 club and could be had for as little as £60M, though those claims have not been backed up by any reports from sources with known connections to PSG or the player’s camp.
