Charlie Nicholas: ‘It’s not a group of death’
Liverpool have been handed Ligue 1 champions Paris St-Germain, Napoli and Red Star Belgrade in Group C of this season’s Champions League.
The Reds were finalists last season, but that has not stopped anyone claiming Liverpool have it all to do in the group stage this season, but Charlie Nicholas believes it is not the ‘Group of Death’ many are claiming it to be.
“Very hard,” he replied when asked about Liverpool’s draw on Sky Sports News.
“I actually think there are three tough ones in there, an awkward draw for Liverpool.
“It’s a really difficult one for them but it is not a group of death.
“I still think they are second favourites in this group behind PSG, who are by far the best footballing side and similar to the Reds.
“As well all know in Europe, Napoli – especially at home – are dangerous and it just takes one little slip up and Red Star are unpredictable.
