Sadio Mane explains why he rejected Manchester United

Sadio Mane had the opportunity to join Manchester United, but he felt the move to Old Trafford was “not right” for himself.

Mane joined Liverpool in 2016 and has gone from strength-to-strength since, but before Mane’s move to Anfield eventuated, the Senegalese international had the opportunity to join Louis van Gaal’s Manchester United.

Speaking in an interview with the Premier League Today Show, Mane said: “Honestly, I could not believe it.

“Some teams wanted me – Manchester [United] – the wrong team wanted me.
