Neymar courts Anfield hostility with Premier League prediction

PSG megastar Neymar has boldly declared that Liverpool will miss out on a top-four spot this season ahead of his side’s trip to Anfield later this month.

The French champions kick-off their European campaign with a visit to Liverpool, last season’s runners-up, on September 18.

Much of the Reds’ game plan will be focused on repelling Neymar, alongside teenage sensation Kylian Mbappe.

Neymar, a polarising figure, may be in for a less than friendly reception after dismissing Liverpool’s chances of qualifying for next year’s competition.

“Who will in it? Woah, that’s difficult,” Neymar told the Express, via a translator.

“It’s very hard, it’s very difficult, but Manchester City will win it. Second will be United, third is Chelsea, fourth is Tottenham.”

The Brazilian reportedly reiterated that Liverpool would not make the cut when the nearby Gerard Pique expressed his shock.

Jurgen Klopp’s side have started the campaign with four consecutive victories but face a real test as they look to navigate their way through a group which also includes Napoli and Red Star Belgrade.
