Virgil van Dijk took pleasure from Leicester City win

Virgil van Dijk was pleased with Liverpool’s 2-1 victory against Leicester City yesterday, which sees the Reds at the top of the table with 12 points from 12.

Van Dijk believes Liverpool can be a lot better than what they were against Leicester yesterday, but he was happy to leave the King Power Stadium with all three points.

It was not an easy task, though. Rachid Ghezzal gave the Foxes real hope when the deficit was brought back to one goal, and Liverpool had to dig deep to get the desired result they wanted.

“Those moments are very important. You need to get the win over the line and they’re going to try everything, especially at the end. We need to be on our toes, be ready, and it’s good that we are,” Van Dijk told Liverpoolfc.com.

“We had moments that we needed to do much better, but we should be pleased with the win.

“We should not be pleased with the way, at times, we played. We should’ve done much better and made it a bit easier for ourselves, but overall some of the players today have been outstanding and we got the win so we’re happy.”
