Under-18s forward Bobby Duncan trains with first team

Liverpool Academy striker Bobby Duncan has been invited to train at Melwood with the first team squad after impressing at Kirkby.

Duncan, 17, had the chance to catch manager Jurgen Klopp’s eye when he trained with the first team on Wednesday, according to the Mirror.

The young forward has been in great form this season for Barry Lewtas’ under-18s, and was selected by Academy director Alex Inglethorpe to train with the players who hadn’t been on international duty this week.

Duncan is Steven Gerrard’s cousin, and is seen as a genuine prospect for the first team. He was born in Whiston and grew up in Huyton, though he now lives with his family in Prescot.

Joining Duncan at Melwood were Paul Glatzel, Adam Lewis, Dan Atherton, Matty Virtue and Liam Coyle as Klopp assessed his young Reds.

Liverpool Under-18s return this Saturday against Wolves in the Under-18 Premier League, where they currently occupy second spot behind Everton.
