Chelsea favourites to beat Liverpool to Christian Pulisic with January move

Chelsea are favourites to land Christian Pulisic in the January transfer window as Borussia Dortmund consider selling the American as his contract expires in under two years.
Ever since having an £11million bid rejected in 2016, Liverpool have been linked with another move for Pulisic but with his value having shot up over the last two years, signing Pulisic would have been quite expensive.
However, with the winger’s contract expiring in 2020, interested clubs will be keeping a very close eye on his situation at the Westfalenstadion.
The Daily Mail claim that Chelsea have won the race to sign Pulisic, with Dortmund deciding they must sell him at the end of the season or risk losing him for free in 2020.

Dortmund have failed to get Pulisic to agree to a new contract and, according to the Daily Mail, Chelsea will look to steal a march on rivals by making a move in January.
This decision from the Blues is partially born out of the danger posed by a potential transfer ban from FIFA that could be imposed as punishment for their alleged signing of underage players.
Pulisic has struggled to break into Dortmund’s starting XI this season as the mercurial Jadon Sancho continues to shine for the Bundesliga leaders. Pulisic said earlier this week that he would be open to moving to the Premier League.
“England, the Premier League, is where lots of kids dream of playing so there is no reason why one day I won’t play here,” Pulisic said before England’s win over the United States.
“We are having a great year at Dortmund and I am enjoying every moment of that. Then when the time comes for me to talk in the breaks about my future, that’s when those things will happen.”
