Mohamed Salah still struggling for top form, says former Liverpool defender

Former Liverpool full-back Stephen Warnock believes that Mohamed Salah is still yet to return to his very best after a lacklustre performance from the Reds away to PSG.

While he is yet to reach the dizzying heights that he did in his record-breaking debut season with Liverpool, Salah is still scoring goals.

It’s clear that things have changed as far as attacking is concerned for the Reds as Alex Oxalde-Chamberlain’s driving presence has been missed this season.

That said, Salah has still got nine goals and four assists this term but Stephen Warnock doesn’t think the Egyptian is hitting top form yet.

“Salah, I know everyone says he’s back to form, but I just don’t see it,” Warnock said after the defeat.

“I still think he’s out of sorts.

“I think he’s trying to play as an individual rather than a team player at this moment in time.”

The former AS Roma forward will have a chance this weekend to show that he is still capable of wreaking havoc in the opposition box when Everton visit Anfield on Sunday.
