Xherdan Shaqiri says he doesn’t care what critics have to say about him

Xherdan Shaqiri has told Swiss media that he doesn’t care about what his critics have to say about him after being asked about whether or not he would sit down to have coffee with Gary Neville after being labelled ‘unprofessional’ by the Sky Sports pundit in the summer.
While there were a number of fans that questioned Liverpool’s decision to sign Shaqiri for £13million from Stoke City in the summer, his performances this season have seen more supporters happy with the bargain buy.
With five-goal contributions from minimal appearances, Shaqiri has certainly shown that he is worthy of a place in the Liverpool squad, with his creativity in recent weeks proving key to helping Mohamed Salah return to top form.
And after Gary Neville called him unprofessional in the summer, the midfielder has told Swiss media outlet Blick that he could care less what his critics say about him.

Not at all,” Shaqiri told Blick when asked if he would have coffee with him. “I do not care what he says. I do not care if he says now that I’m playing hard.
“Many have ridiculed after the transfer that Liverpool is too big for me. But I was always calm, too, when I got little playing time at the beginning.
“I knew, of course because of the experience at Bayern and Inter, that I have to be patient, work focused and then take my chance when I get it.”
Liverpool’s next game in the Premier League is an away test against Watford which is then followed by a trip to Paris to play PSG. Shaqiri’s creativity will be key in each game as the Reds look to keep the pressure on Manchester City and qualify for the knockout stages of the Champions League.
