Adrien Rabiot’s agent claims his Paris Saint Germain career is over amidst Liverpool links

Adrien Rabiot’s mother and agent Veronique has stated that her client’s career at Paris Saint Germain is over after the midfielder refused the Parisian’s latest contract offer.

The Mirror report that Liverpool have previously made contact with the French giants regarding the availability of the 23-year-old.

Rabiot debuted for PSG in 2012, and has since gone on to amass an impressive 219 appearances, picking up four Ligue 1 titles along the way as well as a host of other major honours with the club.

The player’s agent now says that her client’s future is set, following the club’s claim that he won’t play again unless he signs a new deal.

“Adrien’s decision is firm and definitive,” she told RTL.

“As everybody knows, the situation has totally deteriorated, and it is no longer possible to go back.

“During the summer, I told Mr. Henrique [PSG’s sporting director] that I wanted Adrien transfer listed as he wanted to leave the club and that was clear. I see no disloyalty. The club did not want to sell Adrien — there was an offer from Barcelona during that transfer window and the club rejected it. They absolutely had the right to do that.

“Now, the situation becomes very, very complicated as Adrien can leave and the club does not want to lose him.”

She added: “There has been no agreement with any club at any time — I do not know who started this rumour. I think that some people enjoy believing it.

“I have always respected the rules and protocols — everybody knows that. I have never denigrated PSG and now I have been attacked by the club through Mr. Henrique, so I have allowed myself a response.

“We are not allowed to speak with any club until Jan 1 and I will not speak with any club until Jan. 1.”

Rabiot admitted back in October that he was fond of Liverpool as a youngster, and that he would find it ‘rewarding to go elsewhere’ in his career. He has also been strongly linked with a move to Barcelona.
