Aldridge: Alisson is “a top, top goalkeeper” in spite of United mistake
Former Liverpool player John Aldridge has praised goalkeeper Alisson for proving he can bounce back after making a mistake.
Alisson made an uncharacteristic error in the match against Manchester United on Sunday, spilling the ball into the path of Jesse Lingard, who equalised for the visitors.
The mistake ultimately proved irrelevant, however, as Liverpool went on to win 3-1 and return to the top of the Premier League.

And Aldridge thinks Alisson has now shown the sort of winning mentality that proves he’s a quality goalkeeper, comparable even to Liverpool legend Bruce Grobbelaar.
“Sunday was further proof Liverpool have a top, top goalkeeper,” Aldridge said, according to the Express.
“Yes, Alisson made a bad mistake, just like he did at Leicester City earlier this season.
“But it hasn’t cost us. We won at Leicester, and now we’ve beaten United.
“And what’s really impressive that Alisson is like my old team-mate Bruce Grobbelaar in that he doesn’t seem to let a mistake affect him.
“He has real strength of mind, and Brucie had that massively.
“Brucie made mistakes because of the way he played, he’d punch when maybe he could catch it, that kind of thing.
“We all make mistakes. Let’s hope that’s the last one Alisson makes this season.
“He has been brilliant for us since arriving.”
