Ian Rush believes Jurgen Klopp’s knowledge of Bayern Munich can give Liverpool the edge
Former Liverpool striker Ian Rush believes Jurgen Klopp’s knowledge of Bayern Munich can give the Reds an edge going into the last 16 of the Champions League.
Liverpool’s fate was determined today, and with that, so was Bayern Munich’s. The Reds will host the Bundesliga outfit on February 19 before they travel to the Allianz Arena for the return match on March 13.
Rush did admit that Bayern Munich are a dangerous side to face, but he believes Klopp’s knowledge of the German side will prove to be valuable.
“It is very dangerous. Bayern Munich are a fantastic team,” Rush said, as quoted by Sky Sports.
“With Jurgen in charge as well, a German manager, I am sure he will know all about the German teams. Hopefully that can be to our advantage.”

Rush also added that Robert Lewandowski will be a player the Reds will have to be ready to face.
“They have got hope because they are Bayern Munich,” Rush said.
“They have got Lewandowski – he is the top scorer in this tournament at the moment.
“I do think Bayern Munich have a chance but Liverpool have got to keep playing. They have the Premier League to play in and we will take one game at a time.
“Hopefully from a Liverpool point of view they are still firing on all cylinders.”
