Liverpool set to lose Bobby Adekanye to Lazio in the summer

Liverpool Academy star Bobby Adekanye is set to leave the club and join Lazio on a free transfer at the end of the season.

The Nigerian-born forward has signed a pre-contract agreement with Lazio, leaving Liverpool frustrated in their efforts to agree a renewal with him.

According to the Liverpool Echo, the club has been left frustrated by Adekanye’s agent but there is nothing to do now as he has signed a deal with the Serie A outfit.

Adekanye showed his talent for Liverpool’s U23s managed by Neil Critchley but a lack of consistency and an unfortunate injury track record meant he never broke through into Klopp’s squad.

With Rhian Brewster still to return from injury, it’s clear that there is very little room for Adekanye and the like to break into the first team squad.

As it is, Dominic Solanke is likely to go out on loan in January as he struggles to find game time this season.
