Bernardo Silva worried about consequences of City losing to Liverpool

Bernardo Silva confesses that it will be very difficult to catch Liverpool if Manchester City lose on Thursday as the Reds’ lead at the top of the Premier League will stretch to 10 points.

City started the season as the overwhelming favourites to win the championship and retain their crown as champions of England, with Liverpool billed as the side most likely to challenge them.

Halfway through the season and the Anfield outfit is on the cusp of extending their lead at the top of the division even further.

When asked if Thursday’s huge clash at the Etihad is the last chance to drag Liverpool back and claw their way back into the title race, Silva said: “A little bit, yes.

“We know the pressure is a little bit more on us. Because if we don’t win, it will be very difficult to go after them.

“That’s what we will try to do. It is what we try to do every game.  We will try to win the three points, especially with our fans, and we’ll try to win that game.”
