Official: Dominic Solanke Signs with Bournemouth for £19M
The Liverpool striker was expected to go out on loan this month but Bournemouth have moved for a permanent deal.
Playing time has been hard to come by for Dominic Solanke. The young forward was brought in from Chelsea for an undisclosed fee presumed to be somewhere in the £5million range but Solanke has struggled to get into this dominant Liverpool squad.
It was thought that Solanke would be going somewhere on loan this month. And with Jürgen Klopp speaking so highly of the player on a number of occasions it was easy to believe the young striker fit somewhere in the manager’s plans in the future.
But those thoughts can be cast aside now that Bournemouth and Liverpool have agreed a £19million deal for the England goalscorer.
At 21-years-old, Solanke has a long career ahead of him and Eddie Howe will be tickled pink to have such a promising young talent sign a long-term deal at the south coast club.
Liverpool will be losing out on that promise but in return the Reds have a nice chunk of change that’s far and above their initial investment in Solanke. Bravo, Michael Edwards and company. And goood luck, Dom.
