Bayern Munich suffer major injury blow to attacking gem ahead of Liverpool clash
Bayern Munich will assess Kingsley Coman’s fitness today when they train in Liverpool ahead of their trip to Anfield to face the Reds in the first leg of the Champions League Round of 16.
Both sides have their injury problems and suspension headaches. Virgil van Dijk will miss the clash after being handed a one-match suspension during the group stages while Joe Gomez and Dejan Lovren are both set to miss the game through injury.
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Rhian Brewster are long-term injuries but their presence in training is a positive sign as both look to return before the end of the season.
Bayern will be without Thomas Muller while Manuel Neuer should be back between the sticks for the Germans.
A fresh injury concern for Niko Kovac is Kingsley Coman, who sustained an ankle injury late on against Augsburg and will be assessed today before Bayern play Liverpool tomorrow.
Good news for Bayern fans is that Coman hasn’t sustained ligament damage and was pictured completing light running drills on Sunday.
