Liverpool ready to welcome key player back to starting lineup vs West Ham

Liverpool will welcome James Milner back to the starting lineup to face West Ham this evening after he served a one-match suspension.

The Englishman’s absence might have proven costly as the Reds dropped two points against Leicester City last week but as long as Jurgen Klopp’s side avoid slipping to defeat again, the cracks can be papered over.

Milner will be restored to the starting lineup once again as Trent Alexander Arnold is still injured.

Liverpool lead the Premier League pack with 61 points but after Manchester City beat Arsenal 3-1 on Sunday, it’s vital that Klopp’s side overcome West Ham otherwise the Champions could leapfrog the Reds midweek with a win over Everton.

Their bitter city rivals are unlikely to lend Liverpool a helping hand but if the Anfield side can win their own games, there is now way for City to make up for lost ground.

While Liverpool might have a few absentees defensively and otherwise when they face West Ham, the side that Klopp will field will still be strong enough to overcome West Ham and secure another vital three points.
