Liverpool receive major boost in bid to sign box to box midfielder this summer

Barcelona have reportedly pulled out of the race to sign Adrien Rabiot which would leave Liverpool and Spurs as the favourites to land him in the summer on a free transfer.
The Frenchman had agreed a move to Barcelona at the start of January to join them at the end of the season on a Bosman transfer but PSG blocked the move as they were furious that he had been operating behind their backs.
PSG were unable to secure a transfer fee for him during the Winter window but now AS claim that Barcelona have pulled out of the race to sign him which will come as a major boost to Liverpool and Spurs’ desires to sign him.

Despite initial claims that he had agreed personal terms for a move to Catalonia, it now seems as though a move to the Premier League is likelier.
Rabiot has shown his affection for Liverpool and Anfield on social media before and while several reliable journalists from Ligue 1 have cited attitude problems as a stumbling block, the same was the case with Xherdan Shaqiri and he has proved to be a key member of this title-charge-leading Liverpool team.
Rabiot is a free agent at the end of the season and while Liverpool and Spurs are the favourites, Manchester United and Arsenal are also believed to be interested.
