Salah has warning for Van Dijk after PFA win

Mohamed Salah has sent Virgil van Dijk a warning message after the centre-back won the PFA Players’ Player of the Year, according to Goal.

The Dutchman took Salah’s crown after the No.11 won the award last season.

The Egyptian was quick to congratulate his teammate on Twitter before his win had even been made official.

However, he added a slightly mysterious warning on Instagram. Captioning a photo of his goal celebrayion against Chelsea, he wrote: “Just be careful and don’t win all the awards this year… Otherwise you know what will happen next year!”

Salah has been frequently criticised this season for not hitting the same astronomical heights he reached in the previous campaign, despite currently topping the goalscoring charts with 21 in the Premier League this season.

His message to Van Dijk will no doubt have been in reference to those who have exerted undue pressure on him since his own PFA win.
