Manchester City defender makes bold prediction about Liverpool in title race

Manchester City defender Aymeric Laporte is confident his side can chase down Premier League leaders Liverpool.

The Reds, who sit first on the table, currently have an 11-point lead over reigning champions Manchester City.

Liverpool only have to face Manchester City once more in the Premier League having already beat them 3-1 at Anfield, but Laporte remains confident his side can chase down the Reds.

Laporte told The National: “Yes, of course. Last year was quite similar when [Liverpool] had a similar lead but we still have time this year to recover, to catch them and to again try to win the Premier League, so we hope we can do that.

“We need to make sure we work a lot and don’t lose any more games.”
