BBC correspondent highlights two areas Klopp will strengthen this summer

David Ornstein of BBC Sport believes Jurgen Klopp will make a maximum of two transfers this summer.

Speaking on Radio 5 Live, Ornstein explained why the Liverpool manager will not look to add as extensively to his squad as last season.

The Reds recruited Virgil van Dijk, Fabinho, Naby Keita, Alisson Becker and Xherdan Shaqiri in 2018.

“The most settled team of the lot, they’re looking at continuity,” Ornstein said.

“It will be a very settled summer for them, consolidation seems to be the name of the game, they’ve stockpiled well.

“They’ve essentially done their big shop and they don’t see the need to daily shops and to improve their squad they feel it would take astronomical spending.

“They’re looking at one or a maximum of two signings unless there’s an injury or a player that wants out like Philippe Coutinho.”

He added: “At left-back they need cover, that’s they key area, with Alberto Moreno and Nathaniel Clyne leaving.

“They want a young player who can grow into the role or someone versatile.

“They also want a possible attacker to replace Daniel Sturridge if he leaves but once again it won’t be a No 9. It will be a versatile attacker.

“Jurgen Klopp loves the predator that he feels Rhian Brewster is, so he would feature and Divock Origi will stay.”
